The first through fifth grades at Mary Queen School offer high-quality traditional curriculum in a Christ-centered environment. Small class sizes allow for individualized instruction and maximum student growth. Each classroom is staffed by a certified teacher and most of our elementary teachers hold Masters Degrees in Elementary Education with the others working towards their graduate degrees.
Students at Mary Queen are immersed in a language-rich, integrated curriculum that is characterized by developmentally appropriate lessons and activities, flexible grouping, children as decision makers, writing across the curriculum and child-centered teaching that respects individual differences. Critical thinking and questioning skills are nurtured through the use of a variety of assessment techniques, both authentic and traditional, to help make judgments concerning individual needs and for future planning. Catholic Identity is nurtured throughout the year with daily morning and afternoon prayer and participation in weekly Masses.
Art, music, computer technology, library, and physical education are all offered once a week. Students in the fifth grade have the option of playing in the school band. Guidance class is offered once every two weeks and Spanish is offered twice a week.
Come see for youself how Mary Queen's Elementary Program educates the whole person - mind, body and spirit!
