A half-day Kindergarten program was established at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School in 1968 and developed into a full-day program in 2003. Each of our two Kindergarten classrooms are staffed by certified teachers in Elementary Education along with full-day instructional assistants. The teachers strive to make the child-friendly classrooms an engaging environment where children can explore, experiment and practice their emerging skills using hands-on materials. Differentiated instruction meets the specific needs of each of these young children and creates a nurturing Christ-centered environment.
Our primary mission in Kindergarten is to provide a religious environment in which children will learn core curriculum in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. These programs are enriched by physical education, Spanish, computer/library, music, art and guidance classes.Special kindergarten events include our Kindergarten Kick-Off Picnic, annual Thanksgiving pageant and feast, end-of-year Picnic at the Park, and our Seventh Grade Buddy Program.
We at Mary Queen realize Kindergarten is a transitional year for both students and parents. Therefore, we strive to create a loving environment where you child can feel comfortable, safe and thus grow and learn!
