Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School is proud to offer an educational Early Childhood Pre-Kindergarten Program for children 2 years and up. Our Pre-K program includes an experienced, certified staff of Early Childhood teachers and instructional assistants. The program complies with both federal and state guidelines. The facility includes state of the art classrooms designed to meet all requirements for their age groups. Classrooms are filled with a multitude of age appropriate materials designed to help children learn in a developmentally appropriate manner.
A great part of Mary Queen Preschool is we believe parents should be able to choose a schedule that is right for their family. Children can attend either a half day (7:30 am -11:30 am) or full day (7:30 am - 3 pm) with the option of enrolling in our afterschool program (3 pm - 6 pm). In addition a family has the choice on the number of days they would like their child to attend.Our developmentally appropriate Pre-K program addresses the social, emotional and academic needs of each child. In the Mary Queen program, materials are used to promote hands-on activities that will enhance learning in a developmentally appropriate manner. Students will have the opportunity to explore all subject areas including math, reading readiness, science, social studies, Spanish and religion. Students also participate in classes for art, physical education, multi-media and music.
Mary Queen preschool children work with colors, numbers, shapes and letter sounds throughout the day. Students learn science and social studies concepts by exploring the environment and world around them. Children are read to daily and reading readiness skills are also addressed. Math instruction includes concepts such as one to one correspondence, sequencing and an introduction to the concept of numbers. Handwriting skills are enhanced by using the Handwriting Without Tears program.
